    Hi guys,

Just discovered that I quite like Paul Brady :p

I'm looking to get 1 or 2 of his albums, just wondering which are best? I'd be more interested in his trad stuff than the heavier stuff.

Does he have a greatest hits compilation worth acquiring?

    Cheers

Probably available on his website on this page http://www.paulbrady.com/?page_id=766

You could also google You Tube Paul Brady Transatlantic Sessions for listening to.

For me it's Hard Station and No Body Knows: the Best of Paul Brady 1970's - 1990's

The Andy Irvine album is fantastic IMHO. You might also want to look for 'Welcome Here Kind Stranger' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welcome_Here_Kind_Stranger. That's a seminal trad album from him.

http://www.paulbrady.com/?page_id=48 The (missing) Liberty Tapes is a superb recording of a 1978 concert in which Brady performed material from the "Welcome Here Kind Stranger" and "Irvine/Brady" period, with the help of Andy Irvine, Donal Lunny, Paddy Glackin, Matt Molloy, Liam O'Flynn and Noel Hill.

Paul Brady & Andy Irvine is a must. He also has a new greatest hits compilation that could be worth checking out too :)

Welcome Here Kind Stranger is a must have. Superb folk music and hard to match, some tracks sound a little dated now, but go with it...it's wonderful.

The Missing Liberty Tapes is next - only downside is the sound quality - not what it might be, BUT that's the beauty of the album...the tapes were lost for years, so it's amazing to have it at all. 'Arthur McBride' is just perfection! Check YT for some video...awesome!

Alos consider: Moving Hearts: The Black Album (officially 'Moving Hearts' ) and The Storm, whilst 'Songs & Crazy Dreams' is an excellent 'non-trad' album.
