    Hey guys,

I was just wondering if anybody has any information on transferring to a course in another college. Say finishing second year in Maynooth then starting third year in a different place. The course I was looking at is very similar to the one I'm doing but not the exact same. I wonder what you need to actually qualify for a transfer or is it too complicated to even bother?! Also, I'm thinking in job interviews in a few years time I'll have to explain "yes I did two years in Maynooth and then I transferred etc etc" It might look bad.:confused:

Pretty sure you can only transfer into 2nd year normally. Whatever college you want to transfer to should have the info on their admissions page.

For job interviews just add a disclaimer like "for financial reasons, I had to transfer to college X from Maynooth". They'll not question that.

Have a chat with the guys in the academic advisory office, they should be able to help! Also get in touch with the admissions office of the college you want to transfer to and make sure your course will allow you to transfer over to 3rd year in the one you want to do. There could be problems with modules etc so best to make sure it's all okay.

It would hardly look bad in a job interview, don't worry!
