Digital Copies of Studio Photographs

I contacted a photography studio via email enquiring about some portrait photographs in digital format for a personal website. The studio replied with what was mostly standard information regarding session costs, framing costs etc. No mention of digital copies.

I'm wondering if this is something a studio would not typically do. If so, might they be prepared to provide decent quality jpegs rather than the uncompressed file.

Just wondering before I reply to their email...

Most would only sell you low-res digital jpg files.

Of course, giving you digital files hinders their ability to earn a profit from reprints.

    No harm in asking though.
