I am replacing side mouldings on my avensis, got ''new'' ones in scrapyard, what to use, to get them glued to doors ? previous owner was trying glue with some silicon or some industrial glue, but it never holds properly.

Any proper glue to fix that ?

    Thanks.

Use some 3M VHB tape - it will do the job perfectly. Just make sure to remove all traces of adhesive from the panel and moulding first.

I second this we use plenty of double sided tape like this in our place and never a problem

You could use tiger seal, but an adhesive tape will he a whole lot neater

Use some petrol, turps or parafin to remove the old adhesive. Ideally one of those plastic scraper would be useful too. Just make sure the sides are spotless before bonding them back onto the doors. Claybar would work a treat too.
