    See here (BBC article)

This one is a real feat of human endurance. A man that cycled more then 200 miles every day for an entire year. Tommy Godwin is still the record holder of the "Year Record" - how far you've cycled in a year. This man did 76,065 miles in 1939 on a three speed bike steel bike in one year and then went on to set the shortest time to cycle 100,000 miles in 1940.

This is astonishing stuff and you would imagine he would be better known.

Must be related to chuck norris...

"He once saved a woman from a fire, and after checking she was ok, he simply got on his bike and carried on riding.
"All his cups and trophies, he gave away. It wasn't that he was ungrateful - he just didn't need any recognition.
