History Question 6

I was wondering about Question 6: does Hitler, World War 2 and Cold War only come up as the last part of question 6, so technically you don't need to study it?

Because frankly I couldn't give two s*** about that whole period in history, far too much to learn and would love to avoid it. And with only about half of the history course covered, I need to start squatting and if I didn't have to study that it would be a great relief.

Hey yeah it could come up or a long question about the cold war question ( cuban missile crisis, korean war ). What you could do and hope for your blessings is study battle of britain and operation barbarossa ( invasion of russia ) :D

Cuban Missile crisis is an "easy" one in my opinion.

Would you guys think that it would be ok to focus more on either the Irish section or the European section of 3rd year history?

The Irish section does seem pretty avoidable IMO..

As regards question 6 if you learn Irish history or European History you can use that, but just be carefull not to completly block out Europen History as key terms and main points could come up in short questions and documents and pictures.

I dont know if this came up for anyone else in they're mocks but age of explorations came up as part a of question 6. I think it was impact of portugeuse explorers and impact on the civilisations. I wouldn't be suprised if it came up because it hasen't came up before. Also if it helps battle of britain and operation barbarossa came up in our mock for part d and economic war and war of independence came up for irish political movement part c :D;)

That question was actually taken directly from q5 2010 :P

I don't really like the part A accounts, they kind of trick you out. They seem like they'll be really easy 1st/2nd year stuff but then it always turns out to be quite detailed stuff that you may or may not know..

I had the same mock as you, wasn't to bad but tbh i thought q6 D was a bit too predictable.

Yeah it came up in 2010 Q5 but not Q6 part A. Besides already know irish political stuff nd the ww2 stuff. Didnt bother revising the other ww2 moments so i could only answer on 1. if i had studied other would have just scraped an A :( ....... saying that i got an unbelievable result espically considering our horrible history teacher :P :D

I always found the hard history the oldest stuff (Especially pre-Roman, ugh). Reading about WWII and the Cold War doesnt have to be boring, and you can always read articles on the internet. Dont look on history as a chore :p If you read the stuff enough times in different formats you can easily get away without studying it. All the study I did for JC history was based on Pre-1700s stuff, because I had an interest in modern history.

    I was very lucky :D

But it's all good because I know all 3rd year European stuff and the social change ones are easy to bs :)

I know, I know:P You can't totally waffle you're way through Social Change but the accounts require more general knowledge then anything else! I did well in it in my mocks but I think it was marked a little easy..
