Wax for Carbon bike...

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone uses a Wax to polish up their bike (much like you'd use to wax a car)?
I'd imagine a Car Wax might not be suitable for Carbon bikes, but I don't know

Just that my bike isn't a shiny as it once was now, despite washing it regularly. Can't afford a new one until 2013, so wanted to spruce it up now, and have it all nice-n-new looking for France in July

Anyone used one they might recommend, and is 'bike friendly' (if there be such a thing?)?

Wax and polish are very differnent things! A polish will have an abrasive quality to return lustre to dull surfaces whilst wax will enhance the finish and protect it.

Ive only ever used polish once, to buff up a dull patch on the paint of an alu bike caused by a Bike rack. I used Brasso however that would possibly be too harsh for a laquered or clear coated carbon frame.

after polishing Any wax should be fine. I like Collonite as its tough and long lasting and shine looks awesome. I use the same on my car.

Edited to add, unfortunately washing a bike with a sponge is a sure fire way to dull the paint and leave loads of scratches and swirls. A good wax will make cleaning easier and mitigate scratching during washing
