    Hi all,

Ford Focus 1.8 TdDi, 2000. What is the timing belt change interval (miles/years) on this model of car?

    10 years or 100k miles.

50k to 60k miles is standard for most cars, especially on a diesel. 40k for most of the french makes. or every five years if you dont complete this mileage, as rubber is a perishable material.

between every 40,000 - 60,000 miles. The older the car, you'd be leaning towards every 40k.. Get the water pump done as well.....

I had it changed 5 years ago this month, about 50K miles ago.
Time to book it in again.

Why? There is another 5 years and 50k until its due again?

You've had 1 factual response and a few generic guesses;)

    Hi George / Plug,

I've a '06 1.6 diesel Focus van. Is it 240,000km for that one too?

    Thanks.

Think its 200000, aren't some of these older 1.6s chain driven too?

Ford ETIS says 200,000km, I think they have revised it downwards.

They have a chain between the camshafts but a belt for the main drive from the crank.
