Goodes is a big loss for Sydney just as they were going good. Think he is out for 3 games. T Walsh could get chance now though. McKeever out of the Brisbane squad. Hope it is not long term. Hanly back at half back.
Never knew Harry O Brien's first name was Heritier??

Goodes only got a 1 match ban. He'll be back next week, (thank god)

Tight game with eagles and hawks. No goal scored in first quarter tho Kennedy messed up twice with chances, not letting one thru and not passing just at the siren. Wet evening in Perth not helping matters.

Watching the game on the live AFL site. Stream is quite good, no buffering or glitches.

Good win for freo last night. Saints came strong in fourth but they got a couple of good breakaway goals to seal it.

Great win for the Eagles. Strange game, finishing 5-21 to 5-16. Eagles were just about a better side, but it was an odd set up. very defensive and not that free flowing. Eagles missed too many chances, and had they lost, it would have been only their fault. Rioli nearly won it for Hawthorn, scoring 2 goals and then hit a behind which would have put them in front.

As for the umpires, I thought they were atrocious. I'm probably biased, but they rode the Eagles all game long. Buddy got a goal that was a clear push, and at the end, they didnt show a replay, but I thought NicNat put in a great tackle to win the ball 20m out in front of the posts, but was done for a tackle in the back. All game long I thought they were poor, and in fairness, Hawthorn had a couple of bad ones against them too, the Masten tackle on Osbourne especially.

Good result for us tho. And great to see Kerr playing so well. He had come in for some criticism lately. Waters had a great game too, and the ruckmen too. Solid throughtout the field, but just didnt score enough.

Good win for Collingwood against an improving Port team in Marty Clarke's 50th. Hard to get a gauge on where we're at at the moment, really need to get a settled side on the field and playing to some sort of pattern. Wednesday's game should tell a lot.

Hope Robbie Gray isn't too badly injured, he leg went in all sorts of wrong angles when jumping for a ball and in the last minute as well.

Interesting weekend. Port are improving. This time last year expectations would have been a 100 point drubbing. Next week will be interesting for both Adelaide teams. I think the team of the tournament so far has been Sydney. Very impressed with what I seen tonight against an above average Norths team.
Isn't it brilliant having the footy back!!!

yeah fair play to Sydney. I thought with Goodes out and a resurgent roos side that they would struggle, but they powered home. Serious side, good to see some sides back in the reckoning at the top again, Eagles, Carlton and Sydney back up at the top after the domination of Geelong, Collingwood and Hawthorn the last few years. Still expect those 3 to be in the mix, but good to see it starting to widen out again with competitive teams.

I'm still not convinced by Port tho :p

Big test for Sydney next weekend against Hawthorn. In fairness they havent met big sides yet - Pies, Geelong, Carlton, Essendon and perhaps Eagles to come. Think they are playing the Hawks in Tas. They havent had great record in Melbourne in recent years so if they can win there more often things will look good. Hopefully T Walsh gets a run soon as well. Really needs to get regular game time this year.

Wow.. what a game between the Pies and Bombers. Dane Swan was unreal.
