    Hi all,

26 years old and never driven before. Was never interested in driving when I was younger when all my friends were learning and buying cars and alll of a sudden I found myself behind everybody.

Anyway, got two lessons as a Xmas present and I start now on Saturday (work committments meant it has taken this long to book them). Really nervous! I have been driving before, where someone showed me the basics, putting car out of gear, starting handbrake off, into first and away we go! Up to second, then stopping and going out of gear etc.

Just really nervous now about saturday!!

If you are still really nervous on Saturday, ask your instructor to take you to an industrial estate if there is one near by. There will be little or no traffic there, other than other learner drivers. Its a great spot to practice your road positioning, gear changes etc etc with out the stress of being out in real traffic. Good luck.

Don't be nervous the driving experience you had before was probably a family member with no patience 9was like that for me) and this will be completely different, after 10 minutes your confidence will be buzzing, have fun ;)

well I had my first lesson on Saturday, went really well. I was on the road within 5/10 minutes and was quite nervous. But got well settled into it, found the gear changing up and down to be fine. Still nervous at the taking off, clutching and accelerating part of it but hopefully that will come. Another lesson has been booked so fingers crossed that goes well too.
