Replacing DriveTrain

Just looking for a bit of help, want to replace the drivetrain on my bike. I have a Giant Defy 3 9 speed roadbike with following spec:

    Chainset: FSA Vero 30/39/50
    Cassette: Shimano HG50 12-25
    Chain: Shimano HG73

I am buying the parts of chainreaction and I have found a match for the cassette and chain, but the only FSA Vero chainset I can find is a 30/42/52.

So my questions are as follows:

    1. Can I use the same components with the FSA Vero 30/42/52.

    2. Would an SRAM 9 speed chain be better than the Shimano HG73

    3. Can anyone recommend any alternatives at a similiar price range

    Thanks for any help

Same components can be used with the 30/42/52 chainset. Why are you replacing the chainset though?

Made the mistake of not changing my chain a long time ago and some of the teeth have worn badly on the chainset so would rather replace the lot and start fresh. So basically there is no problem using the 30/42/52 instead of a 30/39/50

Can't advise you on the chain rings, but as an aside, i was looking for a chain this morning, (Ultegra 6701) and it was €15 cheaper, or 1/3 less from Cyclesuperstore than on Wiggle. Could be worth a look..

just change your chainrings up front look at TA or Strong light chainrings all the sizes you will ever need and top notch as well , kmc chains are good but sram is is no bad chain either.
try wiggle for TA and Stronglight .
