Hi all, Apologies if this is the wrong forum.
I have a biotech treatment unit which has stopped emptying into the percolation area.
Is anyone familiar with this type of system? if so does it work on a pump to empty?
All suggestions welcome as to what could be wrong and how to fix.
Biotech seem to be gone out of business so no joy there.
    Thanks.

the pump just pumps the excess fluent water out,but if the pump is working away check the outlet pipe from the biotech to the perco area isnt blocked,if you contact kingspan in monagahan they will put you to the right people

I have a similar set up and mine stopped pumping, I found it late so I had to have it emptied first, I took the pump out and found it had stopped due to paper wrapped around the impeller, I cleared that and off she went, I also found that the way the pump was positioned the float switch was resting on a shelf keeping the pump on when the water level was down.

I wouldn't advise going at this unless you know what your doing, it's still water with electrics and very messy, I'm supposed to know what I'm doing and I still forgot to close my mouth:o.

i assume the pump works on a float switch? i have a couple of bits of plastic floating that are not attached to anything. Could they have broke free?
Gonna have to be emptied to have a look anyway i suppose.

also just a suggestion if it isnt electrical or mechanical i purchased some bacteria to help speed up the process...it certainly helped as i believed my percolation area was very sluggish and the house was dorment for a while ,,only recently purchased ..some people suggest putting in road kill etc but i have had friends do this and its not as good as the bacteria ...here is a link to the site ,,,also noticed a reduction in phosphorous smell so all good,,,but i would make sure the unit is working 100% first ....septeck in kilcock are good have used them..http://www.hydra-bio.com/grease-traps-septic-tanks/hydra-re-gen.html
this is the link to what i bought ...
