    Hello,

I already looked this up on http://www.domainregistry.ie/ but am none the wiser.

I've been asked to set up a basic site for our local residents association who also want a .ie domain but it looks like I can't do this unless I'm a company?

Is this correct or did I miss something?

    Any help appreciated,

    John

No - not only companies can set them up. It depends on the legal structure of the body. have a look here

It will guide you as to how to proceed

Roughly speaking all ya need is a letter on letterhead showing your association to the country.

I cannot see a better association that being a res-assn!

    Thanks C,

I looked at the link you provided and it mentions...

    Unincorporated Association Name:
A self-issued letter from the applicant on the association's letterhead stating that they are an Unincorporated Association and require the domain name to reflect their organisation's name.

So maybe I can g about it with a letter!

    Thanks for your reply,

    John

    Hi JustMary,

It looks like you're right, at least by my understanding of...

    Unincorporated Association Name:
A self-issued letter from the applicant on the association's letterhead stating that they are an Unincorporated Association and require the domain name to reflect their organisation's name.

I'll give it a go, thanks for your help :)
