When should a trophy animals head be measured? As soon as it is shot with the head still fully intact or can you wait until you clean up the head so you just have the skull and antlers. I have a friend who has a deer mounted that he reckons is a gold medal ( in fairness I'd be very surprised if it wasn't) but never got it…

Anybody here have trophies measured and at what stage did you get it done?
