Anyone else see a 747 in the climb over Drogheda @ 20:45 this evening ?
Saw it climbing but cant seem to see it on any of the flight tracking sites.
Just curious to see where its coming from / going to
    Thanks Folks.

I thought they stopped years ago?

AirFrance Cargo have a regular 747 flight to Dublin, not down for today though.

The Singapore Airlines cargo jumbo hasn't been in for a long time, think it was discontinued.

AF run a cargo flight from O'Hare to CDG that stops in Dublin every Saturday morning. It's usually a jumbo but think it's a 777 now for the summer.

Not sure what today's 747 was. Nothing on http://notam-ireland.blogspot.com/ about it. Maybe it was an overflyer?

Just as a matter of interest what way was she heading and any idea of height?

It was heading west and it was certainly in the climb, very hard to guess a height though perhaps FL150+ but not anywhere near cruising alt.
Sounds like an overfly, just curious about it as I couldnt find anything on the net.
    Thanks Folks.

Picked up a 747 on my air nav box between 18:00 and 21:00. Didn't have a position on it though. It was a US Military E-4B reg was 75-0125. Maybe this is what you saw. Might explain why there was no position for it.

    that would certainly explain it:)
