    HI 25 Sean,

I have a set of pre SIS Dura-Ace friction levers. They'll work on your various speed blocks but come from an age of 6 gears and 42/52 chainrings - not that that makes any difference! Do you need the band also? €25 and in Dublin on Tuesday.

    Best wishes,

    Brendan

    Karma, will do...

Brendan, thanks.. so theyre 6 speed when in index(clic clic format), but could be put on a 9/10 speed with the smooth shifting? that sounds good... dublin tuesday? Ill get back onto you over weekend.. thanks

Ah Sean 25 you're showing your age!

In the days before "clic-clic" there were just good old friction levers. My levers are early 1980's Dura-Ace EX. They are similar to these levers http://velobase.com/ViewComponent.aspx?ID=c337d277-daca-4fc0-b98b-b4b663a4bb87 but mounted either on bosses on the frame or on a band (the ones in this pic are for an aero format).

    Best wishes,

    Brendan

wow brendan, older than old! they look like 5 speeds or some such!

I Prefer the smooth shift myself instead of the 'clic clic', you can feel the gears a lot more.. something thats gone now with sti..

I'll check with karma whos local to me and bear them in mind...

    thanks

    Sean 25,

'Friction levers' are the smooth levers you want as oppossed to SIS or clic-clic levers. They would do 3,5,7,9,10 gears if you had them! I'm in Dublin tomorrow, so if you think these will in fact be of use ot you let me know today!

I see brendan, thats what Im after alright, my frame has bosses on the downtube to mount shifters etc on.. do your shifters have the extra bits to attach them on?

Also, are they identical to the ones in the picture? with the engraved? writing in them?

In town tomorrow, Ill let you know..

    thanks

    Hi Karma,

I asked for €25, but negotiable on that. I also have rabesquw shifters that would work with same fittings.

    (Anything else you're looking for?)
