itv on sky ???

    can ya get itv with sky basic package? or any package?

    Not on the EPG, but you can easily add it (and many other UK channels) as an extra channel.

    We recently got sky installed. For the first 10 days, all the itv channels were available via the menu so could set sky + to record them. Now they have all disappeared and are in the other channels section which means can't record them. WTF!!!!! What's the reasoning for this (already sent email to sky, not holding my breath though!). Has anyone else had this happen and is there any way round it? Cheers and thanks for reading my rant - deleted all swear words before i posted this!!!

    I've never seen ITV/UTV channels on the menu, only ever in "other channels" (press "services" on remote)

    baldshaunieb - it was probably by mistake that they appeared in the list in the first place (they might have accidentally given you a Northern Ireland setup and then fixed it)

    Think yourselves LUCKY!!!!
    ITV are UK channels and nothing to do with Eire. You are LUCKY to be able to add them as 'other channels'. We cant receive any of your RTE Channels at all.(without a subscription to Sky (Eire))

    I for one wouldn't mind being in your position given the crap that's on the "home channels".

    And we wont even mention the fact that we pay approx 25% more than you for our Sky subs.

    I am happy with then FTA/FTV channels thank you. I am just wondering why someone from Eire would complain about being able to receive the UK Channels only on 'Other Channels' for 'free' when we cannot (maybe we are not missing anything) receive RTE etc.

    If you're really so keen to watch something on the Irish terrestrials you can watch them here aertv.ie:) if they aren't Geo blocked

    I have seen this on a drx595 (non +) box, it came with all uk channels on the epg but soon as it was powered off at mains or updated channels were lost. As said they can be restored using 'card trick',

    I think the box might have been set up as a UK region. Maybe Northern Ireland, as RTE and TG4 would still have been available. Then this was "fixed".
