Project Maths 2013?

Hi, sorry if there is already a thread for this! Im doing maths in college and have been asked to give a junior cert 2013 student grinds for higher level. Ive been researching the course but i dont really understand the whole Phase 1 and Phase 2 thing. It would be MUCH appreciated if someone could point me in the right direction! I did my JC in 2008 so even if you could tell me the new topics it would be great! thanks!:D

The syllabus for the 2013 Junior Cert examination is here:

That's phase 1. You don't have to worry about phase 2 unless you're helping someone who's doing the exam in 2014.

Only paper two is changing for 2013. Paper one is still the old syllabus. In general terms the two new strands on paper two are probability, statistics from strand one and trigonometry, geometry (including coordinate geometry, constructions and translations) on strand 2.

Also please make sure that you are not teaching a student from a pilot school!!

Note that for anyone doing Leaving Cert, they will be dealing with Strands 1 -> 4 in the 2013 exam. It's 'a year ahead' in terms of Project Maths rollout compared with the JC.
