Yea I have just entered it. I am looking forward to it even though it is my first ever proper half marathon!!
I'll be more than happy once I get to the finish in one piece. I have a mild injury that I hope doesn't give me too much jip during the race.
I'm traveling up from Kildare early on Sat morning and back after the race.

    well runforrestrun
how did you find it, i enjoyed it for the most part, found the road tough going , and was happy to see the off road again even if it was uphill, awful bother with insides of hips on the road section, presuming thats from uphill/downhill or maybe from sitting in the car for 6 hours the day before, stiff as a board now

    Hi woody
Yea I really enjoyed it seeing as it was my first half. I was worried about pacing myself early on and then burning out in the last half of it but I just ran at a pace that I felt comfortable with. I really enjoyed
the final downhill section into Carlingford, I flew down the hill even though I was feeling a bit tired at that stage! I was very happy with my time of 02:21:23 at least it gives me a target time to beat next year!
The road was a bit killer on the legs ok especially the balls of my feet as I was wearing a pair of Salomon trail runners and seeing as I normally don't ever run on the road only over on the Curragh plains or the local sports field due to a recurring right calf injury.
I ended up going hillwalking up the Wicklow mountains yesterday for 5 hours so the legs are fairly tired today!! I'll give them another day or 2 and head out for a nice easy run to help them recover!!
    Roll on next year!!:D

    2013 - Anyone heading up?

First time to do this race. Would love if the weather is like Dublin at the moment, dry, sunny and lil breeze.

What a day for running over the few hills eh. :)

Have to say I enjoyed the race, even though my training never went over 10km this year so far so was a wee bit tough. Happy with time though and the course was pure lovely. Even flying down the first hill and I thought I was going to go head over heals.

Only downside was the lack of signage after we turned right after the leisure centre. We had to ask other competitors who had finished and the finish line was jammed with people so I didn't know if I had actually crossed the line or not but couldn't get any further. But at least plenty of adults and kids who were obviously not running got a huge feed as they were the ones hammering the food.
