Ladies Golf Clubs

The missus birthday is coming up and I was thinking of getting her some new clubs. She hasn't been playing that long but her game is improving all the time especially her short game.
I'm also getting her some lessons as well to go along with them. I was having a look at the Callaway Solaire set, it looks nice and I've read alot of good reviews about them, but I've also read that many women are complaining about the heads flying off these clubs so that is putting me off getting them. Maybe I could get her a set of new irons and then add the rest later on, maybe something like the Razr X Ladies or Razr X HL?

What do you guys think? I'd like to get her clubs that are very forgiving and that will give her that extra bit of yardage since she has a really slow swing speed.

    Thanks

Id suggest sending her off to get custom fit and then give her the clubs on her bday. That way you know she will like them. Personally I'd hate someone else choosing my equipment.

Was just looking at them last night myself for my misses friend who's starting. £349 (+£10 delivery) was the best I could find, did you do any better?
I then saw the issue you're referring to and advised her against getting them. She seems dead set on them though.

I couldn't find a better deal than that newport2, it does look like a really nice set, the cart bag really stands out...too bad about the heads flying off but maybe that issue has been resolved since they first were "launched" :D.

I thought about that golfnut1 but I don't think she will be up for a custom fitting. I mentioned that to her a while back and she said that she would be embarrassed because she is not good enough to get custom fit.

Sure they might suit my misses anyway, she's always losing the head herself :D

Ye, they look pretty cool alright. Difficult to get a ladies set that isn't screaming pink
