Dungeons and Dragons

    Hi all!

Looking to get into playing dungeons and dragons so after some research I decided the best thing for me to do is purchase the famous "red box" from the dnd essentials line.

So, after going to every shop I could think of in Dublin city, I turned my attention once again to the Internet. The Americans can get the red box for about $16 from Walmart but amazon uk are selling it for £56!!! Does anyone know of any store in Ireland (north or south) that sells this item? Or has anyone purchased it online and could you recommend a website?

Step 2 after I get the starter kit is find some friends who are also beginners and would like to start a dnd "support group"!

    Thanks for any feedback

If you talk to Martin at Gamers World - http://gamersworlddublin.com/ - he might be able to order it for you if he doesn't currently have it in stock.

Hey there, I just saw this thread. I've never played D&D but I would love to get in to it if possible. My big barrier however is sheer lack of anyone I know being remotely interested. If there is anyone out there who doesn;t mind a complete newb tagging along I'd love to hear from you.

    Hi billaustin

You in dublin? We have a group that meets every Wednesday round 20:00 in Sandyford.
We are very relaxed (to the point of distraction) so if your a serious player probably not the place for you.
Drop me a PM if you close by there are keen.

    AF

Also, if you can't meet up with Attackfish's crowd due to schedule issues or whatever, you can get in touch with the Trinity Gamers society - trinitygamers@gmail.com

They/we love non-student members, and are happy to put people in touch with possible games for them.

Funny that.. our group has 2 rugby players in it... to be fair the other 3 or more than your average nerds so they make up for it....I have learnt the skill of laughing at movie/comic reference when I have no idea what they are about...

compared with most of my friends im like a god amongst nerds but in reality iv got no idea whats what. yeah i find its a skill worth learning if only to make it appear as though you arent completely out of your depth in any given conversation... needless to say i have yet to master it haha
