It's very true. They'll be joining Mike Edmonds (Logray), James Arnold Taylor (Obi Wan Kenobi from TCW) and animator Will Sliney at the show.

James Arnold Taylor will be performing his one man show at the event. Check out the trailer here:

Cant wait to meet Billy Dee Williams, lando was the best!
When I was a kid I tried to dress up as him but my mam wouldn’t let me because apparently the brown face paint would have bothered people.........now that I’m older I can see her point. :P

    Has this improved at all?

Went to the first one and thought it was fairly poor, a lot of empty space and not really worth the admission price, has it gotten any better since then?

have been to them all so far. first one in city west was so so, the RDS last year was very good. now they've moved back to city west and with one day to go till opening i'm still undecided. i agree with roar's statement that jeremy bullock is a real gent if it's quiet he'll take the time to have a bit of a chat.i'll always have something for jeremy to autograph ;). there will be traders there. T.B.H. the main attraction this year will be billy dee williams. i think without him it'll be a flop. it looks like the same oul props. the traders are the ones i'm a bit disappointed with. theres only about 7 and one of these i try to avoid at all costs. dont get me wrong i'm a huge star wars fan. but i'm still unsure.

less than 24 hours to till opening. to go or not to go. hmmmm.

I was at the one in the RDS last year.Walked round the place in 20 mins.
Done another few laps just to get my moneys worth. Also had to pay €15
for a photo with a biker scout !
Don't think I'II go this year.Too expensive and sure its going to have the
same props from last year and the year before.

Just back from it, enjoyable enough more so if you bring a youngling. Met Billy Dee, got my one of these signed on the inside

Some nice props, the lads in costume were all sound too. Not quite enough in it to make me hang around for longer, would have liked to watched the Astronomy Ireland bit but the whole show was an hour behind for whatever reason.

I'd say it's worth the few bob, but again, only if your bringing a child.

Must have just missed you! Wish it was a bit bigger but I'll always pop along to anything star wars in Ireland!

just back from invasion 2012. have to say it was a huge let down. i've been to them all and as i say in the title " this is just my own personal opinion", this one was by far the worst. there must be a new crew running it or maybe it's the fact that it's a friday and most of the crew are probably still in work. T.B.H. same oul props , alot less than last year. if i wasn't an autograph hunter i would've been in and out within 15 mins. speaking of autographs, holy be to jasus billy dee charged €30 per autograph just in case you've blinked in disbelief ,yes €30 per autograph.billy dee didn't have a clue about the remastered edition of R.T.O.J. james arnold was nowhere to be seen, mike edmonds was a real gent though. managed to get my hands on a few things from the traders.
overall view a real disappointment. dumb struck for words on this really.

Can you get your photo taken with Billy Dee or any of the others? or is it solely getting something autographed?

I've been the all of them and gotten my photo taken with most who I got autographs from (favourtes being with Kenny Baker and Dave Prowse- though Prowse was at toys for big boys).
+1 for Bullock, I got so star struck when I met him and he was so lovely, we spoke to him for a good 5 minutes. He wrote loads on the signed photograph for me :o

I'm considering going again this year, though mainly to meet lando :D And maybe drag the boyfriend to the Death Star Chaple :P

It certainly was steep to ask for 30 bones, feck it like, it's always gonna be a once off. The certificate of authentication for the signature was a further €2 believe it or not, & if your paying for his name on something, you kinda have to have the cert otherwise its worthless.

The little fella enjoyed it though, I suppose that's all that matters. I have to say the staff in costume were all fantastic & without them it would have been a real different story.

it was very steep indeed and i agree with the once off for billy dee. didn't bother with the certificate kinda in shock at the price, just wanted two books signed but as i was getting the pages ready (his minder if i can call him that insisted on payment up front) in hind sight i should've chanced my arm with the cert be thrown in as i was paying €60.maybe someone else might be lucky enough to try this. still though got my pic taken with billy. i agree with the staff and the kids enjoying things.
bubblefett jeremy was there being himself. i cant find words to praise him enough. he was quiet( not many autograph hunters) and with that comes plenty of chat time.he really brings a smile to my face every time i meet him, good thing about jeremy is he always remembers his regulars ;).

I went today with my 6 y/o son, he loved it, I would have been a bit dissapionted if it was just me who went, but like someone previously said the kids will like it, spent about 90 mins there. Admission was on 13 for me and 10 for the kid, can't complain about that really, spent about 50 on mercindise.

Went to the one 2 years ago at city west and like everyone else i was really disappointed. the prop and costumes were all great but for me i wanted to have a good rummage through the stalls. As ive been to one of these type of things in the uk. I was expecting to take a couple of hours sifting through all the stalls looking for the right item. But took all of 5min looking at 2 stalls as the other 3 had nothing to do with star wars. The stuff was way over priced. Eg a phantom menace fig that goes for a bout 5euro on card going for 10e. But can you blame them when They have to pay 660 euro for the weekend and have no compettion and thousands of kids wanting a toy to take home with them. if they had there stalls at a reasonable rate i Know alot more people would have a stall there. Then it would make it more worth while for the collector the experience would last longer and you'd be more inclinde to stick around for the events. I know myself i got bored waiting and left.
I had a look at what the line up was for stalls on the website and ive been to most of there shops and again overprice. One guy sells loose figs, the new ones for more then you can buy them on card. so count me out this year. i'll stick to the toy fairs and ill be heading over to the NEC in birmingham for the biggest toy fair in the uk. Over 600 stalls well worth a look and you'll pay a lot less. Plus they had a few guys dress as stormie last year.

I'm debating bringing the kids to this or not. The only video I can find it this...

To me it looks a bit dire. Apart from the Emerald Garrison dudes they seem to be making it for everyone.

Thanks BubbleFett, I decided to go as I was in Dublin anyway, which is a rare thing for me.
I don't think I would have went all the way from Donegal just for it. I enjoyed it though. Good fun, good atmosphere.
Got to meet Billy Dee, paid the 32 bucks for an autograph and got my photo taken with him.
Also met Jeremy Bulloch. Really nice guy, got my photo taken with him too :)
Glad I went now. Doubt I'll get another opportunity to meet Lando again. He's 75 now!

Fantastic day, brought my 5 year old son who was in awe of it.

Had a chat with Jeremy Bullock about Robin of Sherwood, an absolute gent he is and said a hello to Mike Edmonds again lovely chap. Plenty of photos, all the characters were great.

Jedi training for the kids was a great idea and nice they all had a go on their own.

The one small gripe I would have was they didn't really sign it well.

We had to ask a couple of people where to sign up for the training.

In the main door to the right when everyone is going left is not the place to have it without a big sign.

Really nice to see so many kids in the costumes carrying lightsabers, the force is strong in them.

I went with my wife and our two boys 6 and 3, both love star wars.

again like most if it wasnt for the costume guys it would have been a complete joke for €40. we got pictures with most of them although getting a pic with darth vadar was a long winded event.

on top of that even the way the inside was designed was all about selling toys to kids the whole way around, was a disgrace I thought.

The guy who done the voice overs was very good but not my idea of a show, more showcasing his life. we were there to see something more star wars. Two boys were bored after 5 mins.

I thought they could have put on a light sabre fight scene that lasted 30 mins or so with a bit a setting from the movie.

overall very dissapointing and would not recommend going to this next year.....

i was beside this guy when he was talking to billy dee, he was kneeling down and for a sec i'd have sworn he was hornswoggle from the wwe :D. his video summed up what friday was like. it's not about what you see or what we saw it's more of what you dont see and what wasn't there. in other words what was in the video is all that was there on the day.

Yes I was there for four days, I also thought 32 Euro for BDW signature was ridiculous! I brought with me a large ESB photo with Boba, Ugnaught and Lando in the carbon freezing chamber scene so had to pay to get it signed completely.

I thought James Arnold Taylor was a great guest, very friendly and had plenty of time for us, his stage show was excellent.

It is mostly a family event, somewhere to take your kids and have a laugh.
It is really interesting to read what other guys thought of it all.
