    Anyone else doing it?

Would be a handy one for me. Just can't imagine too many flat roads around Kilnamartyra?

I would like to do it and realise its for Charity but €25 entry and the cost of Petrol, from Cork is to much.

I know what you mean but it's the reverse for me!

Based in South Kerry, so not too many runs around, and some like the Maxi Marathon cost €60+. I could spend a lot more heading to runs in Cork and Limerick.

Afaik, this doesn't have an AAI permit. Probably of more interest to most, it doesn't appear to have been measured by an accredited measurer. Four wheels?

Wouldn't bother me too much if out by a little bit. Still reckon some of the hills could be fairly tough going so won't be expecting a PB really. Though it can't be any worse than the Mealagh Valley 10 miler...and that still makes me wince.

    Yeah.

As expected, not many flat sections.

And it was anything but 10 miles, one runner measured it at 10.32, another 10.39. They did signal this before the race, in fairness. Enjoyed the run though, first mile was downhill, next mile was the flat section, 3 miles of gradual climbing followed by 2 fast downhill miles, and last 3 miles mixed. Rain cleared before the run. Nice scenery. Took it a bit too easy for the first 5, beat 80 mins so guess without the 'extra' bit might have been around 76 or 77 for 10 miles. I'd do it again.

    Not good enough.

Glad I am still in recovery/comeback mode and wasn't tempted by this race as it was on my doorstep.

I dunno. It was a nice run around a nice part of the country. Wouldn't be too worried about exact distances. I suspect I've been in plenty of charity '10 mile' walks and runs in the days before gps and mapmyruns when it was just about getting a bit of air and pushing oneself a bit for a good cause. I appreciate that kinda loose approach is not for everyone, but didn't bother me.
