Should I mention my interest in only part-time work immediately?

    Hello

I am seeking part-time work in IT and I plan to send my CV around to local businesses in the area, and to recruiters I see advertising positions relevant to me, even if they specifically mention only full time in case they have something else that would suit me.

Do you think I should only mention I am seeking part time work after I initially receive a reply in the form or a mail or call? This has worked for me in the past once or twice but I am not sure whether it's the best tactic.

I'm going to go through the Golden Pages, irishjobs.ie, monster.ie, and the work section of the Herald which I still think is on a Thursday? Are there any other major avenues I should employ?

Oh and one more thing, it has been said before that I should password protect my CV in a .pdf file to send so it cannot be edited or copied easily, but I have also heard it is easier for employers to work with .doc files, what do you think?

    Thanks.
