I'd say the baseball forum is the best place to begin anyway ! Quite a few posters there have been to games :)

as long as they're not playing anyone big like the Red Sox (well pretty much just the Red Sox) you should be ok to get tickets through their site or from stubhub.com.

September is the end of the regular season though so depending on how the yankees are doing there may be a lot of demand for tickets, i.e. if they're chasing a play off spot.

I'd go to the yankees website and try buy the tickets there directly that's the best and cheapest way. Just make sure you don't get tickets in the Family Seats, there's no drinking allowed and you really need to drink to enjoy baseball

I used craigslist to great success a couple of years ago. Also ticketcity are excellent, their prices fluctuate and they deliver direct to your hotel room over night at little cost.

Stubhub are great too, they have last minute centres where you can order the tickets and pick them up very close to the actual time of the game. If you watch the prices, they can plummet 10 minutes before the closing time of the sale (normally 60 minutes before the game).

You'll have no problems at all for any tickets pretty much.
