What results would a full blood serum test cover?

I'm having a "full blood serum test" this thursday and I want to ask my GP for specific results but I'm not sure what is covered with this type of blood test.
I want to him to check my testosterone levels and to find out how my adrenal gland is doing.
Would this be covered under the BT or do I need to ask for it?

You may have mixed up terms

If you mean full blood count then this will not cover the tests you mention

Those specific tests are special request, quite expensive and rarely done by general practitioner, few indications to do them either

    Oh I didn't know that.
I want to have my testosterone levels checked because he thinks it might be linked to my symptoms. I didn't know it was expensive but I think I should do it and be persistent.
How much would both of these tests be roughly?

Sorry I work in a hospital

Dont know the exact cost at our side we try to discourage junior doctors doing battery of blood tests which are not indicated

If your GP is doing the tests I dont think you will be charged for them but there should be a good reason for doing the test, not jst for a general check up as those would not be done normally in those circumstances

Well I had my bloods taken last thursday. It went fine and I'm waiting until this thursday for results.
I did mention that I have lost a lot of weight (over 10 pounds) very quickly and unexpectedly without any change to my diet or exercise regime over the last 4 months and I have been losing a lot of hair as well. He just said he would take blood and test for kidney, liver, thyroid problems.

I've never taken a blood test before so I'm not sure of what kind of results I would expect back. He took 4 vials of blood if that is any help!:P
I don't want something to be wrong with me but at the same time I want something minor to be off so he is able to treat it and hopefully sort out my weight/hair problems.

BTW, I still wanted to get my testosterone lvls checked but he didn't. He did ask me if I was having ED probs like getting or maintaining an erection though. I said that was all fine, but at the time I forgot to mention that I haven't been getting morning erections for the past few months (I'm 17 so its odd for me not to get them). When I go to see him next should I bring that up?
Thats the reason why I wanted to test my free T and T levels, just to see if everything was ok.

yes, you should mention any symptoms you have to your gp.

I'm going to close this thread now as it's veering towards medical advice.

    best wishes.
