I am not sure of the situation in Ballina, there are others on here more suitable.

If indeed it is a non RTENL deflector, and you can get RTE1, Net2 and TV3 currently without using the deflector then you will lose all non-Irish Channels.

Many deflector groups are running out of money and closing down.

If you get a Saorview box, and if the last you are getting RTE from is already broadcasting Saorview signals then you will get the Irish Saorview Channels.

To get the UK Channels you will need a dish based setup.

Most of Ballina town (NW) will have Saorview coverage from Truskmore, areas blocked by the OX mountains (SE) will have coverage from Castlebar
    http://www.saorview.ie/make-the-switch/coverage-checker/coverage-map/

As already said, You'll need a dish for UK stations.

Off topic, but can you photograph any close down messages from deflectors seen on your TV. Post them up here if possible. Thanks

Op, what's with the text-speak:rolleyes:??? On a serious note, if you have the bobs, pop down to Lidl on Thursday and buy the Saorview box they are offering. If you are getting all your channels currently from the deflector, its very likely that your aerial will pick up Saorview. As has already been said, if you want to get the foreign channels, then its a dish plus another box.
