    Hey guys

I've a massive text thread on my HTC Hero and any time I try to 'delete all' it either freezes or just crashes after a while. Is there any quick way to get it done? I downloaded 'Super SMS Delete' and although that works (a bit) it's very very slow.

Was just wondering is there a way, perhaps via a PC? Or would that involve rooting?

    Thanks again.

Deleting the normal way doesn't even work anymore, while Super SMS Delete needs the screen to be on for it to work. Is there an app or a way to keep the phone active and screen alive while it does its thing?

I have a hero too and i use handcent for my texts it lets you force delete a thread but takes its time, the phone is still able to function but slowly. Sadly its just the hero doesn't have the grunt to do it quicker :(

Remember this from my Hero. Took so much time to delete long text threads!!! Phone would basically be unusable while it was deleting.

From memory. I think Settings, then set a limit per thread, seems to work better on the low end phones than actually deleting. Then just turn it off afterwards.
