Problem's running following weight loss

I was wondering if any one had experienced issues with injuries following weight loss.

I've stopped rugby training since January and I've been exclusively running 3-4 times per week since then. I've been slowly increasing my mileage from 4 miles to a max of 10 miles. During this time i've lost quite a bit of weight, and I also have lost quite a bit of muscle around my legs. I'm wondering could this change in my body have changed my gait and now be the cause of some problems i'm having. Gait analysis I had performed last year showing I required a neutral shoe.

Since 3-4 weeks ago I've been experiencing pain above and below my knee and a tightness in my hamstrings and calves, I havent been able to run more than 2 miles since.

I've tried resting and copious stretching but my next step is to get the gait analysis repeated and then possibly visit a physio.

Just wondering if anyone has had similiar problems and how they managed to solve them.

    Cheers

Yes defo physio and ask the physio and ask them would the recommend a foam roller for your problem. Might be no use to you but they will be able to tell you for sure because it may be something else and they can only see from an appointment.

Best advice is physio and ask about the foam roller, getting gait done again is no harm either.
Lost alot of weight too last year from running and clean diet but did not get any extra injuries from running just the normal stiffness from using muscles i had not used in years.
I use wavvin pipe(poor mans foam roller) for my muscles and it has helped me greatly...
My gait or footype stayed the same,Crap............i need MC shoes so hopefully mine changes to neutral if i get to 12.5 or 13 stone!!!!!!hardly though..........
