The prevalence of change/training jerseys

Just something I noticed today while on the O'Neills site, there are more and more counties releasing "away" shirts and training jerseys in alternate colours. Does anyone else feel this will lead to a reduction in the strength of association with county colours. Dublin and Kerry take the biscuit altogether:

Why the hell do Kerry need 3 kits???

As Solarith nicely said, it's to increase revenue.

I don't mind counties having a nice selection of jerseys and other gear, some of it is very nice and you can really show your support for your county.

But it is starting to get ridiculous. What's the point of the pink jerseys? Looking at the O'Neills website, a good few counties have them. All the pink jerseys look very very similar so people mightn't even know what county you are from! If some of the profits were going towards breast cancer awareness / Irish Cancer Society then that would be great, but I haven't seen anything mentioned on the website.

Also OP, you forgot the Dublin GAA Home 2-Stripe International Jersey and the Dublin GAA Goalkeeper 2-Stripe International Jersey :p
Are O'Neills only allowed to have 3-stripes on their jerseys when they are used in Ireland?

Yeah it has something to do with Adidas. I forget the full details but I think the 3 stripes are for Ireland and the 2 stripes are for the rest of the World.

The first one is Kerrys home jersey, second away keeper, third away, fourth home keeper, and the 5th charity maybe?

Yeah I left out the 2 stripe variants as they're understandable. I just think that some GAA fans have long mocked the likes of Man Utd for money grabbing with jerseys when now the GAA are worse, releasing jerseys that will in all likelihood never be worn and charging full whack for training jerseys. Its a joke and puts extra financial pressure on parents.

Spot on. Proceeds for pink jersey to Irish cancer society I believe.

Kerry did wear 3 different jerseys in last year's c/ship though. Wore a darker navy one in the Limerick game, but reverted to the traditional royal blue change strip for the Mayo game.
The adidas Kerry blue strip from 1998/99 is one of the nicest GAA jersey's I've ever seen. It was class!

Any links to the charity aspect of the pink jersey? Seems strange that theres no logo on the shirt or mention of it on the O'Neills site, a quick google didnt bring any joy.

Also, why do Kerry need a change goalie jersey? surely the keeper could just wear the blue jersey in the minority of cases where the opposition jersey clashes with his jersey but not the outfield jersey?
