Upgrading the software on Sony Blu Ray player

    Hi All,

    I have a Sony BDV-Z7 blu ray player, it seems to need a software upgrade. When I go onto the sony website the only instructions are to plug an ethernet cable into my internet device. Herein lies the problem, i have wireless internet and my internet device is upstairs in the spare room and my home cinema system is in the sitting room, so sticking an ether net cable bewtween the 2 devices is a non runner ( the website says we ned to us the TV while upgrading)

    Any tips ???

    Would you happen to have a phone socket in the sitting room you could shift the router to?

    I can only think get a long telephone extension lead and move the router temporarily or lug all the stuff to the router. You should be able to get a 15m lead for about €12 or less.
