    In all my years owning macs I've never had this issue

    I watch baseball through streams.
    It's about the only way I can watch it
    And on these streams there are constant pop-ups but I just keep cancelling them and so I get to watch my Chicago Cubs

    But for the last few days I've been infected with something

    Like reading boards and words like:
    life, time, messsage, etc and all these become links to some stupid pop-up about mobile phones

    I've checked applications and can't find anything new and dodgy
    I checked activity monitor and can't find anything

    I reset Safari and that didn't work

    Any solutions? Thanks a lot

    Safari > Preferences > Extensions. Disable and uninstall it.

    Things like this don't install themselves.

    It's fixed, now that's super fast help

    Was just some codec a baseball stream wanted me to install
    I was fooled :o

    You can update the hosts file on your computer to block the connection of most of these things. The link below is targeted at Windows users but the hosts file is universal across all platforms so it works on OS X/Linux too.
