I've been signed up to do the RMHC 80km cycle on Saturday. Someone promised burgers and I fell for it.
I can't find a route mapped for the event. Anyone here have one? If it's not overly hilly I might go single speed.

This is the mapmyride link - it is 2 laps around, so closer to 70km than 80km...

This is the link to the route for the 25km and 50km event - the 50km go around twice...

Thanks for the maps Mel.B, couldn't find them online anywhere, I'm doing the 50k with my first-timer teenage son, he reckons if he can do this he'll have no problem with the Ring of Kerry, the innocence of youth:D

I actually emailed the organisers to get the maps a week or so ago. I had signed up to do the 50km but was wanting to change to the 80km if there weren't any major climbs in it - wasn't sure with it being Wicklow and all!

Anyway, hope the weather is good for you all and wish i could be there.

See the link in my post above. The 25km goes around the lake once, the 50km twice.

Ahh just realised that link is not working...i will try to fix it asap

Here is the link for the 25 & 50km (who go round twice)

Just home from this now. A very pleasant day out, and a nice route with only a few small hills. I ended up doing the event on my single speed, so was happy that it wasn't overly hilly. There are still a few climbs, but nothing too bad. I got held up for 25 minutes with a slight mechanical problem (handlebars came loose while descending) but soon got back into a good rhythm. Ended up doing the whole thing alone though.

Passed a lot of people doing this earlier, I was heading the opposite direction, looked like a good mix of people!
