Cz 455 review

I've had the cz 455 thumbhole for a week now so I've decided to put up a bit of a review.
I have to say that this is a lovely little gun, and very accurate. It's nice and light to carry, even with the scope, bipod, and mod fitted. The gun feels lovely in the hand, and the stock doesn't feel too short like some rimfires. The trigger while being user adjustable for weight has a bit too much creep for my liking, but I've ordered a Yo Dave trigger kit for it so that won't be a problem for much longer.
It's grouping a shade over the 0.5moa, and working off the drop it's pushing the hornady 17gr v-max at 2500 fps. This is just a calculated velocity because I haven't had the chance to chrono it yet.
The scope I've got on it is a hawke sidewinder 30 6.5-20x42 tactical, and is a surprisingly good scope for the money. The clarity is excellent, the illuminated reticule can be turned down nicely, so that it's not glarey when using it under a lamp, and the side parallax is fine enough to accurately range find with using the big wheel that goes on it. The target turrets are easy to use, and return to zero every time, and are lockable which I think is a great idea.
As a bunny basher I find the hmr to be a fun round to use, and is well capable of taking rabbits at extended range if the shooter is up to the task.
Here's the results of today's shooting
    cfe6b12a.jpgtwo bunnies 185 and 190 yards
    5272e38b.jpg150 yard headshot
    6f4f069b.jpg130 yard headshot
    72e96074.jpg140 yard headshot
ea6b7ca9.jpg150 yard neck shot, I was going for a head shot but misjudged the range by 15 yards and the bullet dropped the inch into the rabbits neck.
The wind is a big factor in using this caliber, and I believe it is an excellent caliber for improving anyone's wind reading, since the slightest change in wind speed can mean the difference between a hit and a miss.
All in all im very happy with this gun, and would recommend one to anyone.

hi looking at the scope mounts it looks very high can you get cheek weld on the stock with it . i would think a lower set of mounts would work better imo

They are a bit high alright, but the cheek weld is fine. They have to be that high though because the bolt lift is quite high. There's only about 1cm of clearance between the scope and bolt handle as it is. You can see that in some of the pics where the bolt is up. I'd like them lower, but the setup is working fine, so I'm quite happy the way it is

Congrats on the new gun Dec, she looks the part.
I read on another forum that the 455 is cheaper than the 452? Apparently they left out a recoil lug and this simplified the machining process...

Here is a nice comparison between the 452 and 455:

Thanks Glensman, I'm really happy with it. I can see want they're talking about with this comparison. I have owned both models.
