Do many of ye use Skrill (Moneybookers) to transfer money between bookies?

How quickly do you receive money from bookies?

Do the bookies pay the fees?

    Any downside to skrill?

I started using it about 8 months ago. It's the best way for getting the best price as the money is in and out usually within a few hours. And it gives you greater control over your bankroll which is very important.

Depends on the bookies really for how quickly you can receive the money. With PaddyPower I often receive the money within 30 minutes. Bet 365 usually 2-3 hours. Vic Chandler, 188bet, coral etc take generally about 6-12 hours. 888bet takes about 3 days.

At the beginning you will pay fee's to put money from your card into your skrill account, can't remember the fee's off the top of my head but it's not much. You can use your laser free of charge though. Another plus is if you are applying for credit with your bank, bookies will no longer show up on your statement, you WILL be refused loans, overdrafts, mortgages if there are any bookies on your statement in the last 6 months. There are however no fees for using skrill on bookie websites, except I think pinnacle.

Now here's the best part, if you are transferring over €2000 to skrill merchants monthly (Bookie sites pretty much) you can become a skrill vip and with this all fee's and charges are removed for depositing and withdrawing from your skrill account AND you are given a free skrill mastercard which gives you instant access to your account (daily limits apply, €250 withdrawal).

You will have to verify your age and address fairly quickly after opening your account so have your passport and a bank statement handy to scan.

IMO, really are no downsides to it. Sounds like work for them :P

Actually there is one downside to it, many of the bookie's new customer offers are not open to skrill deposits:(

This is the one thing that would put me off them at this moment in time, but that is my personal situation. Otherwise they seem dead handy, and the lack of transactions appearing on the bank statements is a real plus.

What you can do, if you're just starting out and don't mind it coming up on your bank statement is make the first deposit, to get all the bonuses, with your card and then after that deal with Skrill.

That's probably what I'll end up doing. Still in the early doors / research stage at the moment and will be until next year I reckon.

Out of interest, what are the Skrill pro's and con's vs Paypal?

Probably very little difference between them until you become a Skrill VIP, don't know how much fee's etc are for paypal, plus then the Skrill mastercard you get is incredibly useful. Also I think the only way to put money into your actual paypal a/c is by bank transfer other than that you are just using the card through paypal. If you were to put money into PP, would it come up on your card as PAYPAL PADDYPOWER for the transaction?

Sorry if that all makes little sense I've had a long day.

Nah it makes sense, I'll need to do a bit more research into how Paypal works exactly. Used it for eBay a fair few years ago but can't recall the ins-and-outs of it.

Not having transactions show up on my statement is the main reason I ask. Once I became aware of the problems it can cause I have been lodging and withdrawing in powers shops and betting in the shops whenever possible. Ukash and pay zone are other options. I won't be using bank plastic to deposit again.
