Can anyone clarify for me what type of case the 1995 Irish United Nations Pound Coin is supposed to be in? I have seen many without any case at all and pictures of some in a blue case, a purple case and a sort of cream coloured case. Is there some sort of difference or are people just putting the coins in boxes they are finding?

They originally all came in this exact case with cert from the Royal Mint:

But because they were a part of a wider United Nations coin collection series, many collectors took them from their original boxes and put them alongside ones from other nations. So they're typically found loose and then people would just put them into some 3rd party box.

Any other box you see them in is not an original. Some dealers were putting them in very similar Royal Mint boxes, but the colour was slightly different, you have to be careful cause those are hard to tell from an original.

Thanks for the private follow up info DMcL1971, cream also appears to be original for anyone else interested.
