Hi all, I am really finding it difficult to make a decision as to what new road bike I want to buy. I have been looking in a few of the local bike shops and have seen a few options. I would welcome some opinions on the few bikes below if anyone has owned one or about VFM -

Lapierre Senium 100 TP - €1700 along with shimano 105 components - what do people think of internal cables??

Kuota Kharma - Sram Apex €1500/1600 (has anyone heard of this make before?

    Giant Avail 3 Composite 1449

I really don't want to go over €1500 but will stretch to 1700 if the 200 makes a big difference to what I can get for my money.

    All suggestions welcome,

I really want to get one soon!!

I bought a Planet X SL Pro Carbon with SRAM Rival groupset in the Planet X shop in Athlone last week. €1300 all in. I'm pretty happy with it and it's popular with a lot of people on here because of the modest price.

Note the wheelset has been upgraded from what's shown here to the PX AL 30, they claim its an upgrade anyway. The saddle is planet x as well, again they said its lighter and better than the one in the spec.

I found them very professional and easy to deal with.

I reckon I am going to go local although I have heard alot about Planet X...I will check those other bikes out....I'm actually starting to lean towards the Kuota Kharma, would welcome any views of experience of there bikes....I know it is a brand that is not so well known here....Thanks!!

Check ebay for the Taiwan/China carbon frames..

Often from the same OEM manufacturers - just a lot less

(Can only speak for mountain bike frame, not road)

Would recommend a Wilier Izoard, for mine for €1550 last year
Think that was an offer but they go from around that to €3k depending on spec.
Lovely bike and a bit different.

I bought a 2011 Felt Z6 last year. It was mainly 105 components but no shifters or crank. Having said that, the ones on it are fantastic.

I paid €1,350 for it, but it was the last one to be found in the country!!!

I'm not to sure of the 2012 model, but I would imagine it is going to be along the same lines and would definately recomend it.

Alternatively I looked at the Dolan Mythos at the time which with full 105 components was coming in at about €1600 - - -look at it now though £1,075 - and that's before a haggle!!

Very difficult to get and no shops seem to be interested in ordering them. There's a problem with production or supply I believe.

Plenty of them in shops and plenty available to order . Problem might be with the shops and not the suppliers.

Stiil , the Agree GTC is great value and a smart looking bike too.
