I'm having an issue with my galaxy S2, when I try boot up the phone it stays on the home screen but Crash report errors keep coming up on the screen.

Any idea on how to fix it?

    What rom are you running?

Have you tried to reset the device?

Using standard rom, haven't rooted it at all, tried to reset the device but it didn't seem to respond, and kept taking screenshots?

Can you take the battery out and try to reset again.

Yeah have tried this - by reset do you mean hold down the volume up and home button, then power button for 2-3 seconds and release that?

    Should the phone be on/off?

What version of Android are you running? Ice Cream Sandwhich? Do you have Kies installed on your laptop/ desktop. If yes to Kies have you tried to reset it from that? Do you have a picture of the error message your getting?

I'm guessing its a force close? If so what does it say? Its an app thats crashing on start up I'd assume.

Applications > settings > backup and restore, > factory data reset

Make sure that you do backup first.

Can't open any menus or anything, it won't go past the home screen, it's the email app and calendar app consistently force closing.

Boot it into download mode and flash a new rom on it with Odin. Hold voldown+home+power when starting it up.
