I believe that the stock answer is that the camping ones are only any good for mainland Europe and that the home ones aren't too bad but aren't amazing value. I also seem to remember them being a very low budget SD receiver.

Installing any satellite systems youself the first time is an absolute nightmare. I had problems myself the first time and many people spend hours with no luck pointing the dish.

So for any system, the first time, I would recommend mounting the dish on South East side of house youself, and then paying a professional around 50 euro to point it.

As for lidl, the camping one, as already said, is not suitable for home use, nor most camping applications, the home dish comes with a bracket that's not very good.

For the same money you can buy a better setup online from an irish company. Also you should probably go for a combo box if you want UK and Irish channels.

Generally lidl sell cheap stuff, often it is not high definition, not the lastest, not professional quality. We get lots of people asking how to set them up on boards, after every sale.

I have one of those lidl recievers running in a spare room for about 4 years now and the reciever has been grand, the dishs are not great, the design of the brackets are poor but would be ok for a few years in a sheltered location, but you would pick up a new sky disk inc quad lnb and bracketry for 30+euro from adverts.ie and get a cheap fta reciever from 50e which would be a better job over all and would last a lot longer,as for installing a dish for the first time, well if have a bit of patience you could do it ok but its hit and miss and might take ages but if your up for it then you will do it,regards
