Mods, close this if it's looking like a for sale thread, it's not!

Have a mint 1982 Rolls Royce to sell for Father-in-Law.....on English plates but in Ireland for 10 years or so.
Any ideas on how to shift it?
Uk better for classics at the moment?
Any websites apart from carandclassic.co.uk and the main Irish ones?
    Any Owners clubs in Ireland?

    Thanks in advance.

Probably a better market for that in the UK I would say. Car & Classic is a great website I find. No harm in banging it up on done deal and some of the free sites too.

(Thread might be better suited to classics)

What month in 82' is it?
If you can get it on to zv plates and get a current NCT, you'll have a much better chance of selling it.
If you have the reg number ,this site should give you the month of first registration in the UK.

Does it need an NCT if it's over 30 years old?

Yes an 82 car will need an NCT but tax would be cheap and classic insurance too.

Has it been in storage for 10 years or has it been driven?

He might find it tricky and / or costly to register it here (and even if he passes that hurdle the car needs to be NCTd - every year) and the market for classic cars here has been hit very hard. I'd say the easiest option is to take it back to England and sell it there...

Whos to say it wasnt kept north of the border for the last ten years. They wont care once you have an invoice that says you just bought it and you can write that yourself. €200 for a southern reg is cheaper than returning the car to Britain.

    Any pictures???

Sorry for delay replying, spent last 72 hours in Holles Street :)
    And thanks for the replies.

So, to answer some questions, it's a Southern Car and is driven weekly (along with his Mk2 Jag and Daily driver Jag).

He did bring it in from the UK originally (I think, might have been Jersey)

I'll get some pics posted at the weekend, and then do the right thing and post up an Ad in adverts...

It is a genuine low miler, he's fanatical (and a bit crazy in general) about his cars. Everything else could fall apart on him but the cars get the work done.

    So:
    adverts.ie?
    carandclassic.co.uk?
    carzone.ie?
    cbg.ie?

When the ad is up I'll post a link....
