Guys, I've a high loft Cleveland 3 wood (17 deg). Not been hitting it well or feeling comfortable with it.
But I've a 20.5 deg cleveland hybrid which is going great.
I'm considering leaving the 3 wood out of the bag and getting a hybrid in its place (16 or 17 deg).

What would ye think are the advantages/disadvantages of making that change?

You would probably be better getting an 18* because it leave a nice gap for a 15.5* 3 woods if you ever decide to utilize one. 18* also gaps nicely up to a 21/22* hybrid if you decide to leave a 4i out of the bag.

I played all of last season without a 3 wood and just an 18* hybrid and it worked out just fine, I was so inconsistent with the 3 wood there was no point playing one. The 18* was short on Par 5's but a lot more reliable so I would definitely say go for it.

I'm putting the 3 wood back in the bag for this season, a bag of 2 woods 2 hybrids 5-PW and 3 wedges and putter is ideal IMO. Plenty of forgivness for distance shots by swapping out the 3/4i for hybrids but still enough space in the bag for 3 wedges.
