Making a new board game.

So I have an idea for a board game. I made a small prototype of it and showed it to a few people and they thought it was a good idea. It's a puzzle, jigsaw and picture game. Simple enough for a child to play as the rules and goal of the game are easy, but can be made challenging without complicating it.

I'm going to make it into fully complete game, this is probably going to take 3-6months. It's only on an A5 piece of paper at the moment. It will still be crude as I'm not great at drawing. If at this point it was popular I would go further with it.

So I'm wondering has anyone on here had any ideas for board games?
If you have have you done anything?

I have had tonnes of ideas, scribbled the down in various notebooks and then added them to the pile of things I want to do at some point! I have also worked on a few prototypes of video games. I think it's very hard to be a gamer and to never think "I could make a cool game"!

Still, best of luck with it and if you need any beta testers I'm sure some of us can help (if there's not a tonne of printing to do ;) )

Have you any ideas of how far you want to go with it? Get it published? Self published on something like fund-it etc?

Just making a full game then see how well that goes. Just making it into a boxed game and I'd be happy. I would love to go further with it but its my idea and I'm looking with rose tinted glasses at the moment.
    Thanks.

check the forums on www.boardgamegeek.com - you'll find that in general bringing a board game to market is a mind crushing, thankless discouraging process.

If that doesn't dissuade you, look into kickstart for funding . . .
