Anybody have Enrico de Lago last year for 2nd year History NUIG (The Rise of Modern America). What were the topics of the tutorials? Trying to figure out possible exam topics for this year.

I had him for a different course. He's an excellent lecturer but IIRC, he doesn't give exam hints.
THat said, you can usually take a good guess by looking at his old exam papers. The topics remain the same though he'll often change the wording of the question.

Del Lago takes a left wing t approach to American history so if you're going to argue that the American establishment is great be prepared to fight your corner. Howard Zinn's A People's History of the United States is always a good person to quote for him.

Cheers for that, his left wing ideology came through in the lectures alright, won't be writing any pro-establishment/big business essays for sure. Had four tutorials so going to prepare questions for them and hope for the best.

And that's pretty much why I avoided his courses altogether.
