Just came up as breaking news on Sky Sports.

No real details yet, just that he has had a heart attack.

Great player, 50 odd caps for England. Fingers crossed he will be okay.

He underwent surgery earlier today and has been fitted with a coronary stent. If he responds well, he might be home as early as next week. Get well soon Sir Trev, a true footballing legend, the best British player to ever play in Italy according to Roberto Mancini.

When i think Trevor Francis, i always think of only this:

I always thought he was the first million pound player full stop. If he wasn't, what player in Europe was?

I don't remember the name but it was some Italian, heard the name before because that record was broken by Paolo Rossi being transferred. Rossi's tranfer was before the Francis one too.

I always thought his name sounded like an 80s Dublin hairdressers.

Remember the way they would always be called Robert John, Dermot James or something similar.

When we got a phone in the 80s (after waiting 2 years for it) we kept getting calls for that hairdressers - we must have got that number after it they went out of business.
