M6 Motorway service area

    Is there any motorway services areas along the M6 ?? Like the one at Monasterevin .

    There are no directly online services on the M6 but there is a large "unofficial" services 500 metres from the J8 interchange at the eastern end of the M6/N6 Athlone bypass. This service area - called Kilmartins - has been in place for many years and contains a large service station, a drive-thru McDonalds, a hotel and other facilities. To my knowledge it is the only services available along the M6 at present.

    There are plans for an official online services on the M6 but these are not well advanced.

    There is also a decent Corrib Oil shortly off the Ballinasloe West junction with (some) seating.

    Thanks for the responses. Kilmartins seems like a great place to break up the journey
