the Saorview EPG

I bought a Samsung 32D5000 (not sure if the model is relevant but it comes with Saorview inside.)

Strangely when I press the button that shows the EPG the time of the programs is off by 1 hour.

I mean the 9 o'clock news is listed as coming on at 8 o'clock and all that applies to all the other programs as well.

This wasn't always the case -at first everything was normal.
Of course I thought that I must have set the time wrong but that is not the case.

And I can't see anything on the internet about Saorview being messed up around the country -
    Any theories?

Oh and by the way ,is it normal for me to have to reset the time every time I switch the telly back on(that is a completely separate issue I think)?

This may be to do with summer time. I had to change settings to GMT+1 on my Sony PVR to get Saorview channel epg to show correct time when summer time came in a few weeks back. When I set the time to auto freeview epg was correct but Saorview epg was one hour behind.

My Sony TV is the same, a real pain. Tried all the settings and nothing seems to work.

Surely if you set the time to GMT+1, then the time on your TV is wrong?

I do have a box that allows me to pick up freesat channels and it plugs into the TV.
I suspected it could be interfering with the TV's Saorview Tuner and so I unplugged it to see if I still got the wrong time without it (I also turned the TV off/on at the wall) but the problem still remains.

Could this freesat box have somehow "infected" the TV ?

But you could be right as the problem did crop up sometime after the Summertime changeover.

When I go into settings(on the TV ) I don't notice any option to auto select (or not)GMT -it is not a Freesat HD box -just a TV with Saorview inside -but I do have to set the time again whenever I turn it on (very inconvenient ) in order to get thge EPG to work at all.

not sure about that (I could try it this evening though).

Do you have to reset the time every time you switch it on as well ?

It is a temptation to leave it on all the time which is surely a waste of electricity.

I have a 4 yr. old Sony V4500, the Time Zone is set to GMT. It also has an "Auto DST" setting which is set to "on" which displays the correct time. If I switch off "Auto DST" the time is displayed -1 hr from local time.

Regarding the Samsung, don't have one but will have a look at my brother's Samsung at the weekend. As the D5000 is Saorview approved there should be no problem with the time setting, probably something to do the menu settings. Is there an "Auto DST" (daylight saving time/summer time) setting or similar in the menu? If so try setting it to GMT with the auto DST setting to on.

Nope the time is correct with GMT +1 for both Saorview and Freeview channels but if set to 'auto' Freeview is OK but Saorview is an hour behind.

I have solved my problem by rerunning the initial setup.

I think I chose Auto rather than Manual this time (I don't think I clicked on a GMT option ).

I think I had run the initial setup a bit cack-handedly and when the Summer time came that made it obvious when the 9 o'clock News was being shown as happening at 8 o'clock .
