Deutsche Telekom announced - two days after the city of Sidney - the massive market tackling of the home heating sector.

Combined heat and and power plants will be installed to get rid of high voltage power lines turning local communities into more or less energy independant consumers.

In the long-term both utilities plan to use artificial methane and hydrogene (solar gas) or geothermal energy (Sidney). For the moment the savings of grid transmission costs as well as profits from peak time supply management are the driving factors.
