Hey folks, I did a search for driving ranges and although there were several results they all seemed to be from 2008/09 etc. And we all know how many things have changed and closed down in the last few years :P
So didnt think it would be to cheeky to post a thread asking about them, havnt golfed in a few years and hankering to get back into it slowly, range being the 1st action.

So curious as to what driving ranges are open and running(and in good condition) In dublin, mainly the west. Im in the Tallaght area so anywhere around is fine, even down towards Naas and that way would be ideal if not to far as I have to head that way some days anyways. (only areas id not bother with would be northside through toll and to far away due to petrol prices to get there and back)

I went to Spawell years ago but Its closed down since then I think, cant think of any other ranges. Im looking for a nice one that has good balls and mats and the likes.
    thanks alot :)

Spawell hasn't closed down as far as I'm aware?

spa well is still open actually, was there today & they are refurbishing some of their bays too.

you could also try out Newcastle driving range, between Newcastle & grange castle. they've bays there as well as a par 3 course.

Celbridge driving range is also still open as far as I know which also wouldn't be too far out of your way

Ah grand, I swore spawell was shut down but I have seen cars in the carpark whenever heading back to M50 that way, just assumed they had opened a new resturant there or something. Cant rem ever seeing anyone on the par3 course there, so assumed the golf stuff was closed. maybe just timing.
And ye that Newcastle one would be handy, am out that area alot some weeks, its the peamount one your on about I assume? google brings me to that with 'newcastle drivingrange' and is on the newcastle-lucan road.

Gave spawell a google aswell and does look like its up and running alright, It was never in great nick from what I remember but due to its location I should prob just go there, also €6 for any basket size before 2pm on weekdays is nice deal.
