If you're going to spend the money on AP2 712s id go get fitted in Carton. few bob extra but well worth it.

    I'd agree with Matt above.

Just did it last week myself and the AP2s are ordered.

For that kind of club, and even at a good deal, they're going to cost a lot, it's worth the extra few quid IMO.

I got a set of AP2's about three years ago, for some unknowen reason took them out of the bag about a year ago. Started using them last week and forgot how great they are. Both look and feel amazing.

You should be able to pick up a set of 8 (i.e. 3-PW) of the original AP2's for about €300 in good used condition. The revised model, maybe €350-€400.

How much did you pay and for how many irons. Any woods?

I know of a new set of 710 version going for €399 new!
Are you after a certain spec?

    PM if interested.

I agree with neckedit above re. 710's. I bought a set of AP2's this year, but I had picked out the 710's last year before the 712's were released. Once the 712's were released the 710's dropped by over 200 euros. According to most experts, if you had AP2 710's there is nothing in the 712's to make you want to upgrade. But if you were coming into that market 712's would be the way to go. Stores might still have stocks of 710's that they will flog at a reasonable price. As a full set of brand new 712's is on the costly end of the market.

Fantastic irons though, absolutely love them :)

I tried out the new 712 AP2s recently and they ticked all the boxes for me. I'm very fussy about how a club looks and I was very comfortable with these because they look like a club is supposed to IMO... The Mizunos I tried were also a very fine club (with the same shaft that suited my needs) but for me the AP2 was more successful and they're #1 on my wish list.

I have set of Ping G2irons and TM Rac, would the AP2's be a tad ambitous ? H'cap = highish

Buying golf clubs are a bit like buying shoes except we ask for our size when we buy shoes and most golfers dont know their size when they buy clubs. A couple of months ago, I decided in my head that I wanted AP2's but also wanted to get sized up as I was spending a lot of money. I booked a fitting session in Carton through Halpenny Golf (fittings are by appointment and only bookable thro golf shops or thro pro's) and after going through a range of club heads - both AP1 & AP2(both 712's) and many shafts, the session concluded that the AP1s suited me best but most importantly for me, the shafts are 1/4 inch longer, extra wrap on the grip, kbs stiff shafts and club face lie was changed from standard. I also sized up for a driver and sized for a 910 D3 with an Aldila 60 shaft 1/4 inch shorter than standard. There was no upcharge at all. Clubs took about 10 days to deliver to shop. Bottom line is I am now playing a different game and trying to get used to hitting 10 - 15 yards longer on irons and 20 yards longer on driver. If you enjoy your golf and would like to improve, get your equipment fit to you rather than you trying to fit yourself to your clubs. I have drifted from 10 to 12 h/cap but I am now enjoying my golf again and expect the h/cap to drop. Bottom line, I would fully recommend that you get yourself sized up before buying anything but be aware that Titleist AP1 and AP2 have a heavier clubhead than most other makes. I hope my experience helps you!!

If anyone else hears of the 710 AP2's being sold cheaply please post here. Focus golf were doing them for 499, missed that offer.
