They need to make up their mind - did he hit a car or get knocked down - big bloody difference!

Why? It seems to me perfectly reasonable point to want clarified. Are you telling us that just because someone is an "elite" cyclist they are entitled to do what they like on the public highway?

He says he was on a bike path and the driver probably crossed it.

Here in Ireland they'd be out making sure that the 'Yield' or 'Cyclists Dismount' signs were all nice and clear on every driveway, minor road, and bus stop on the path to make sure this didn't happen again! (I think I'm only half joking here...)

He also said he was going at 35-40kph. There's hope for me yet!
I also remember how he nearly went through a teamcar on the last TT in the last Tour De France. He was really moving on one straight and had to do a major readjustment to manoevre when the car wasn't going fast enough to keep out of his way. (I'm not for one second saying this is anyway related, just a memory that popped into my noggin).

"What I know is that I was going about 35 to 40 km/h on a gently sloping bike path"

He probably means no more than 10% uphill.

Back out on the bike just 7 days after his accident, very impressive.

    Injury Update

He made his racing return on the 1st, finishing fourth in Frankfurt!

    Tony Martin happy with comeback
